Kirk Bozigian had a big decision to make: what would the first impression of G.I.JOE: A Real American Hero be for dozens of toy buyers, and tens of thousands of comic book readers? That was the decision at hand when Marvel Comics handed him two marker comps for the cover of G.I.JOE: A Real American Hero #1. This cover would go on to be shown in sales meetings with toy buyers in advance of the launch of the toy line, and would be broadcast on television across the nation once the comic was ready. Just another day at the office for Kirk!
